Matt Gardner

He has been playing guitar since 1988 for 36 years.

He has been teaching guitar full time for 24 years - having over the years given thousands of guitar lessons, you can't go far in Abingdon without bumping into somebody he has taught.

He is highly experienced in playing live and is a patient and empathetic guitar teacher who deeply undertands the challenges of learning the guitar.

He has very broad influences and artists he teaches range widley from Jimi Hendrix, to Led Zeppelin, to The Jacksons, to The Smiths, to Taylor Swift, to The Doors, to The Beatles, to Ed Sheeran, to Green Day, to Queen, to The Red Hot Chilli's, to Metallica. Matt is happy to take on and transribe any piece that will motivate his students to practice and has frequently done so for years.

As well as teaching the guitar, Matt also plays in one of Oxfordshire's leading covers bands.

The Undercovers play everything from Led Zeppelin, to Girls Aloud, to The Black Keys and we they their own unique twist on pop classics from the 60's to the present day.

Their set list consists of a great collection of classic and modern rock and pop songs guaranteed to get everyone up on the dancefloor for your wedding, party or work function.

Matt's experience as the lead guitarist of The Undercovers puts him in a fantastic positon to help those students who wish to get into a band and perform live.
